Just like any family, there are many tales to tell
At 53rd and Lockwood, that brick house it stood well
How she come to buy it, the story’s lost to dwell
Would be futile and those days are gone and the pain you’ve felt it fades
It’s plain to me she carried on, dug her garden with her spade
In the vacant lot adjacent, her garden fed the family well
She toiled in the fur shops, loved her children and helped them when they fell
Now those days past, the loves not gone I saw an old man hug his son
All differences aside at last still honoring that it's our past
For some unknown reason, we haven’t heard from Sue in years
She once was like a sister to me, now she’s gone and I’m in tears
I’m older now than I once was and it's hard to think that way
When everyone you’re thinking of is old
Just like any family, the story of a path and goal
And we carry all the struggles, and from our parents life unfold
And the chaos of tomorrow, to which I’m going to give my soul
Well timelessness can be achieved but it’s hard to track it down
And old walls built once to ward off high seas crumble to the ground
And a father’s love is not to be achieved but to be found
